AEMERALDS is a music label and publishing house representing artists, releases, and events. They needed a site as refined as the music itself — minimal, editorial, and gallery-like, built on split-screen layouts and a lot of intentional negative space. We handled the complete development, bringing the design to life in Framer: pixel-perfect, fully responsive, and fast.
The Challenge
Minimal design has nowhere to hide — every margin, every alignment is on display. The build came down to five things:
Translate a minimal, editorial design (split-screen, oversized type, heavy negative space) into a pixel-perfect build where nothing is off by a pixel
Make the asymmetric, split-screen layouts feel just as intentional on mobile as on a wide desktop
Integrate music — Spotify and social links, release highlights like "new single out now"
Keep cinematic imagery crisp but fast-loading
Structure the site for multiple content types: artists, releases, events, and publishing
The core challenge was precision. With this much negative space and type this large, the build had to be exact — and the split layouts had to re-flow cleanly without losing the editorial feel.
